Paul Elberse is an international investment banker, investor and entrepreneur with more than three decades of experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, project finance and corporate governance. For more than 20 years, through his firm FICUS Advisory based in Uruguay, he has acted as a bridge between Europe, international capital markets and South America, helping companies, entrepreneurs and investors gain access to the local market, identify partners and opportunities, and structure acquisitions, investments and long-term growth strategies on the continent.
Born and educated in the Netherlands, Paul has lived and worked in Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America, and has conducted operations in more than 33 countries. He has developed particular expertise in energy transition, renewable energy, sustainable fuels, infrastructure, life sciences and deep technology, and also invests in early-stage businesses and projects. A graduate in business studies and executive programs from the Universities of Utrecht, Hartford and Stanford, Paul joins Carmine Capital in August 2026 as a Business Partner.
